Gregoriou Law Firm had the honour of opening the Athens Vis Moot Academy “Theory and Practice of International Commercial Arbitration and the CISG” with the first lecture, “Introduction to Commercial Arbitration & Vis Moot – Part I”. The Academy is organised by Greece VYAP in collaboration with the Athens Public International Law Center (Athens PIL) of the Faculty of Law, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Our Senior Partner & Managing Director, Stelios H. Gregoriou, LLM, FCIArb, delivered the opening session as one of the two keynote speakers. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Chair of the CIArb Greece Chapter, Stelios drew on his extensive experience as counsel and arbitrator in complex cross-border disputes and his long-standing involvement in international arbitration.
He was joined by Evanthia Kasiora, LLM, Associate at White & Case LLP (Paris), whose practice spans international commercial and investment arbitration in sectors such as energy, infrastructure and construction. Evanthia shared practical insights from advising private companies, States and State-owned entities at all stages of the arbitral process, from pre-dispute strategy to post-award enforcement.
The opening lecture attracted a highly engaged audience of students, setting an energetic and inspiring tone for the programme. Gregoriou Law Firm is proud to support initiatives that promote international arbitration education and help prepare the next generation of practitioners for the Vis Moot and beyond.
