Gregoriou Law Firm recently acted for a client acquiring a newbuild Aquila 50 power catamaran from the manufacturer's production facility in China, a transaction that required careful handling from contract negotiation through to delivery. Our team negotiated the newbuilding and delivery contract on the client's behalf, including specification schedules, stage payment terms, delivery timelines, and builder's warranties, while also structuring protections around late delivery and pre-delivery inspection rights.
Alongside the newbuilding work, the firm negotiated the purchase terms, coordinated the incorporation of a Greek NEPA to hold the vessel, and managed the flagging and registration process under the Greek flag, ensuring the corporate structure and documentation were fully in place ahead of delivery so that ownership transferred cleanly into the client's hands.

Our team guided the client through the acquisition, managing the transaction from offer through completion. Our team conducted title and encumbrance checks on the vessel, reviewed the survey and sea trial findings against the sale agreement's contingency clauses, and coordinated with the seller's counsel to resolve outstanding queries and finalising the contract.
